Condomonium: $3.5 million for a Yorkville suite with a wonderfully excessive decor scheme

ADDRESS: 80 Yorkville Avenue, unit 1401

AGENT: Janice Fox, Hazelton Real Estate Inc., Brokerage

PRICE: $3,450,000

THE PLACE: An opulent two-bedroom suite in 80 Yorkville, a full-service building with valet parking, a concierge service, a gym and a yoga centre.

BRAGGING RIGHTS: While sharp edges and sleek finishes are pervasive in downtown condo towers, this suite boldly declares its commitment to luxury with hand-gilded ceilings, Schonbek chandeliers and a mirrored tile bathtub that begs for a Cleopatra–style milk bath.

BIG SELLING POINT: It’s available fully furnished. Working from the marble desk in the library would bestow a sense of gravity on even the most mundane office task.

POSSIBLE DEAL BREAKER: The spirit runs counter to the rising popularity of minimalist living.

How about a couple mil knocked off to de-vomitize the place? Goes to show money doesn’t buy class or taste.

The Toronto pied-a-terre of Ivana Trump and Liberace. Love it. Each room is tackier than the last. It gave me a laugh.

Can we assume from the monogrammed window treatment in picture #6 that the current owner is Richie Rich?

  • SirWanker

Interesting….wonder if the art-work is considered part of the furniture inclusion? And the generous use of mirrors indicate either narcissism or voyeurism…..

  • Lamis Dantas

oh yeah!!! that’s yorkville back in The Bellair days…

  • Steve Bako

Love it. Amazing and consistently decorated the same style thoughout. In NYC, this is easily a $15mil condo on UES…. Absolutely stunning!!!!!

    it’s a pathetic dump…obviously the anti depressants didn’t work..

  • sigh

A fine example where money certainly does not buy beauty.
