Everyone loves Kimberley Newport-Mimran’s Pink Tartan collection

It was obvious that ’80s opulence was a strong influence on Kimberley Newport-Mimran’s Pink Tartan collection. Showing reverence for undergarments, there were a few bustier dresses, and shoulder pads were given pride of place, stitched atop a sweater or visible through a sheer shirt. Jean Paul Gaultier would be proud. We love how young it was. There were tube tops and leather minis but also the Pink Tartan signatures that the label’s devotees have come to rely upon. Later, wide-collared trenches were thrown over sparkling cocktail dresses, reminding us of the scene in Pretty Woman in which Richard Gere throws his coat over a scandalously clad Julia Roberts, though these frocks wouldn’t have caused a fuss in the Regent Beverly Wilshire, or at least not the type Gere was worried about.
