TORNADO WATCH: extreme storm could touch down in Toronto this evening

What we hope tonight won’t look like

Just one day after the city’s second annual summer lunchtime quake, Environment Canada has issued a tornado alert for Toronto. Apparently, a line of storms expected to develop around Lake Huron could be headed toward the Golden Horseshoe area some time before 8 p.m. tonight, potentially bringing with it “large hail, damaging winds and torrential downpours.” Yikes.
