ADDRESS: 27 Drake Crescent
NEIGHBOURHOOD: Cliffcrest
AGENT: Victoria Ann Ryczko, Coldwell Banker, R.M.R Real Estate, Brokerage
PRICE: $2,099,000
THE PLACE: It’s situated on a massive 77-by-145-foot lot in Scarborough’s well-to-do Cliffcrest neighbourhood, but the chic, contemporary interiors—a handsome slate fireplace, polished concrete floors and an arty steel-and-wood staircase—have all the trendy trappings of the coolest downtown condo.
BRAGGING RIGHTS: The landscape. The house backs directly onto Bluffers Park, with only a small fence separating you from the vast expanses of greenery and scenery the park provides. It’s like having the world’s biggest backyard—without all the pesky maintenance.
BIG SELLING POINT: The living room, with its 23-foot-high glass windows that provide a panoramic view of the park, Lake Ontario and the Toronto skyline beyond.
POSSIBLE DEAL BREAKER: If you’re raising boys (or a perhaps a genderless baby), expect fights to erupt over who has to take the girly-girl room with the pink-polka-dotted floor and pink drapes.

Very nice – I personally like this house because it’s different and airy. The property taxes are cheap for a home that size.
June 2, 2011 at 10:15 am | by CP48I had the opportunity to view this spectacular home and was truly impressed. Rarely does a lakefront property of this quality and style hit the market. Exceptional!
June 2, 2011 at 11:45 am | by Deborah GloverWho owns the lot behind the backyard? Chances are, someone will build a new house behind it and block the view…

June 3, 2011 at 1:06 am | by AlTruly stunning! Though it makes me wonder why the owners would want to part with it?
June 3, 2011 at 10:47 am | by GabrielleThe land behind the property is zoned conservation land and as such, no construction can ever occur. Park/Area voted best kept secret in Toronto… Heaven on Earth!!

June 8, 2011 at 7:18 am | by Ella Zetser - LastDetail.caThis is the first house TL has put up that I think is truly spectacular and desirable. Lots of expensive and wild properties usually in this space, but nothing I would actually want to live in. Until now. Amazing house, amazing location.
June 10, 2011 at 11:47 am | by IgnatzAn ideal setting and informed clients made designing this home a unique pleasure. Adapting the original design to Integraspec ICFs (Insulated Concrete Forms) was surprisingly easy due to the user friendliness of the product. It is encouraging to see as much enthusiasm as has been shown for this project and to green housing in the GTA.

The staging is a bit 1995 for me, and the claw-foot tub in an otherwise modern place–but otherwise, quite nice for the price and the great view!
