Rob Ford’s allies fight Adam Vaughan in an epic battle of words, tweets and blurry photos
Rob Ford supporters clashed with Councillor (and likely 2014 mayoral candidate) Adam Vaughan yesterday, in an entertaining, though dishearteningly spiteful, war of words and tweets. Vaughan started things off by slamming Ford for shirking his mayoral duties—a charge that journalists and politicos have also made in the past. Vaughan told the Toronto Sun:
Very little of what you talk about when you’re talking about this mayor has anything to do with work at city hall, and as a result his approval ratings are dropping. He’s not doing anything here; in fact he’s doing very little. He barely even shows up for work.
Deputy Mayor Doug Holyday jumped in to defend Ford, confirming Ford was at city hall that very day. He also called Vaughan “David Miller Jr.” (BURN!) and accused him of insulting the mayor to get attention. “The only way he can get in the news is to be critical of somebody,” Holyday said.
The scuffle didn’t end there. A couple of hours later, Mark Towhey, Ford’s director of policy, got involved, tweeting a picture of Ford “hard at work for the taxpayers” in a meeting with Mike Del Grande and Jaye Robinson (and, most excellently, a bottle of Tabasco sauce). Of course, proving the mayor’s productivity via the “pics or it didn’t happen” approach is a little weak. But at least it inspired others, including Councillor Josh Matlow and team, and a cat-cuddling Matt Elliott, to show photographic proof of their own work ethic. [Toronto Sun]

Kind of ironic since the only things I read or hear about Adam Vaughan is either his wanting to ban bullets or his bad mouthing of the Mayor. Nothingelse.
Tabasco sauce. That’s what Toronto taxpayer’s want, Tabasco sauce. Tabasco sauce. Tabasco sauce. Not Ketcup. Not HP sauce. Not Hollandaise sauce. Not sauce gribiche. Tabasco sauce.
Jaye Robinson has an extensive history of doing little to nothing. I’m surprised she was a City Hall. When she worked their full-time she was rarely there depending on her support staff and taking every summer off.
Tobasco sauce? This is a picture of our mayor hard at work?? lol.
Adam Vaughan has every right to criticize the mayor, who’s not doing a good job. Someone has to do it.
Dear Vince:
if you’re concerned about his lack of media coverage, I can explain. Adam Vaughn is busy WORKING. I live in his riding and he’s always out at community meetings, answering constituents concerns, and supporting the causes of the people who voted for him in this diverse downtown riding (such as the reduction of gun violence).
To clarify: Working does not mean hiding your lunch behind your monitor as you pose for pictures with your stoolies, giving the fingers to fellow Torontonians, or barely avoiding killing them as they get off the streetcar; nor does it mean running away from your gay constituents, bullying city council or whinging about the Toronto Star on your weekly self-love-in on CFRB.
Working, my dear Vince, is something that Adam does and RoFo… well…. RoFo is too busy doing other things.
