The chairman of the Toronto Parking Authority says the organization will review its policy of giving councillors free parking passes, following city councillor (and local millionaire) Doug Ford’s public stand against it. Of course, the act was needlessly dramatic and largely symbolic—but it’s still impressive (and slightly depressing) how much mileage Ford gets out of stunts like these. Just another example of the nickel and dime stuff that his brother focused on when he was a councillor – good for show and impresses Toronto Sun readers to no end, but makes no difference to spending at City Hall overall. Meanwhile, he has absolutely no vision or plan for moving the City forward.
