Was George Clooney dining at Jack Astor’s?
Prego Della Piazza, Sotto Sotto, Giancarlo Trattoria…Mamma Mia! Where does George Clooney eat his pasta? Apparently, Jack Astor’s at Yonge and Dundas, so we gave them a call to clarify:
“THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING JACK ASTOR’S, HOW MAY I HELP YOU?”
“Did George Clooney eat pasta at your restaurant last night?”
”Yes, I got to work this morning and everyone was talking about it.”
”Does he like a sprinkle of parmesan?”
“Call me back in 20 minutes. I’ll talk to one of the managers who was here last night.” Twenty minutes later. Ring, ring:
“THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING JACK ASTOR’S, HOW MAY I HELP YOU?”
”Was it spaghetti or cannelloni?”
”He actually wasn’t here, but I’m still not sure because everyone is saying he was, and you aren’t the first to call.”
“Weird.”
“Maybe call back at 4 p.m.”
The pasta mystery remains unsolved.
I love Jack Astor’s at Young and Dundas. Sitting on the patio and overseeing the busy-ness of Toronto is awesome. One of my favorite restaurants in the city because of that reason, as lame as that is.
So, what if he ate at a restaurant that is not on Toronto’s top ten most expensive restaurants??? I would think that adds to his down-to-earth charming qualities.
