Salvatore Ferragamo
The Italian fashion house unveiled its first Toronto store in Yorkdale Shopping Centre last week. The 3,000-square-foot boutique stocks the men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections, as well as leather goods, silk scarves and iconic Vara pumps. Learn more »

Likely General
The haute trading post trend continues with a cute new boutique in Roncesvalles. The mix ranges from jewellery and art to pickles and plush toys, with an emphasis on handmade, artisanal goods that should play well on the gentrifying strip. Learn more »

Crywolf
The five-year-old brand started by Toronto artists Rose Chang and Stephanie Drabik, now has a standalone store on the Ossington strip. Doubling as the duo’s studio space, the shop carries Crywolf’s collectibles and clothing for men, women and kids, alongside jewellery, stationery and trinkets from a roster of mostly local designers. Learn more »

Pop-Up 120
Each season, the revolving pop-up store in fashion distributor Agency One’s head office will feature a different brand from its roster. First up: British rocker clothing label Religion, followed by Ganni, a line out of Copenhagen with a clean, modern aesthetic. Learn more »

Wonder Pens
This nook on Dundas at Bellwoods Avenue is dedicated to beautiful pens, inks and notebooks from all over the world. Writing implements range from $2 to $300 and the owners are happy to give fountain pen neophytes a quick crash course.

Two boutiques focused on pin-up and rockabilly style share this storefront at Bloor and Dovercourt. Loveless and Rosie The Rebel both sell vintage reproductions for men and women in sizes ranging from XS to 6XL.

Zara Home, a decor offshoot of the fast fashion company, is opening its first Canadian store at Yorkdale Mall on August 22. A Canadian e-commerce site launches the same day.

Massimo Dutti,more upscale brand from the same company as Zara, is also launching online shopping in Canada on August 22. Learn more »

• Hudson’s Bay Company is reportedly itching to bring Saks Fifth Avenue and its discount offshoot Saks Off Fifth to Canada after finalizing a $2.9-billion deal to buy the two stores’ parent company. Learn more »

• Buzz continues to surround Dutch suit specialist Suitsupply’s plans for a Toronto location. A store is definitely in the works, but it seems the company is having a tough time securing retail space.
