The Find: bespectacled TV host Dan Levy’s new line of affordable, thick-rimmed eyewear

We have a feeling television host Dan Levy’s line of frames will do better than so many failed celebrity fashion ventures. First, the Canadian comedy scion is as famous for his cool, thick-rimmed glasses as he is for his quips on MTV’s The After Show. Second, his specs hit a sweet spot between high-end (read: expensive) and fast fashion (read: breakable). And finally, the five unisex styles, each named after a Toronto street, have an irresistible retro-modern look. Our favourite: the Cluny, which evokes classic frames worn by James Dean and Annie Hall. $95. Available at The Narhwal, 8 Price Street, 647-351-5011 or dleyewear.com

“Levy is the son of a famous Canadian comedian, himself famous for talking about a show that ended three years ago. He has since launched a licensed line of eyewear based on his own need for spectacles. Styles are named after streets in a city that he hasn’t lived in for years. At this price, why not just throw them out when you’re done!”
