Maryam Keyhani unveils her incredibly striking fall/winter accessories
You may remember Maryam Keyhani from Stylebook’s Toronto’s Most Stylish feature, but on top of being a smart dresser, she’s also an emerging accessories designer whose pieces can be found at Holt Renfrew, Joyce in Hong Kong and other retailers. In addition to becoming a global brand, Keyhani took part in Vogue Italia’s new talent showcase last year, Frieda Pinto has been spotted sporting her designs and rumour has it Madonna’s stylist placed a call for a couple of the designer’s pieces. For her fall/winter 2012 collection, Keyhani has created insane shapes with folded silks, structured metal and strands of pearls. It’s certainly not for the kind of girl who tucks a bit of coin away every paycheque for a Tiffany and Co. tennis bracelet. Keyhani’s pieces are for women who can stand to look a bit ostentatious.
Overpriced.
I just want to comment on Cynthia’s overpriced comment; I found your comment insulting. These necklaces are all hand made here in Toronto and not in sweatshop in a developing country. Maryam and her amazing team go through an incredible creative process, the fabrics, leather and hardware are hand selected and all pieces are hand stitched onto stunning high quality pieces of art.
Suggestion to you, stick to Aldo accessories as you clearly have no clue or appreciation for true craftsmanship of these unique necklaces your comment is just insulting to artists and hardworking jewelry makers everywhere!
The pieces are ok but still don’t find them unique. Its a competitive market, and the fact that they are over priced is so true.
