Tenue de Nîmes taps Canadian cult denim brand Naked and Famous for a 24-piece exclusive

It isn’t every day that a Canadian brand teams up with an international boutique for a collaboration, and since the Hudson’s Bay Company’s team-up with France’s Colette seems like a distant memory, we were pleased to see that Canadian success story Naked and Famous has launched a collaboration with Dutch denim boutique Tenue de Nîmes—but we should mention that this pair of jeans is far more exclusive than the average pair of Levi’s. Tenue de Nîmes announced today that the online boutique is carrying only 24 of the 100 per cent made-in-Canada rope-dyed pants, going for 219 euros (308 Canadian dollars) a pop. Past collabs with Raleigh and Tellason Nº2 have been successful, so we think a strong showing for the red-and-white designers is not unlikely. The workwear look of these pants will make it easy to integrate them into most Club Monaco shoppers’ wardrobes (or Margaret Howell, for the high-end, itching-to-look-blue-collar consumer), and since we hear that Euro travellers with Canada flag patches on their bags fare well, we can only just imagine what the maple leaf tag on the derriere will do the next time London’s calling.
