Jay Manuel has been fired from America’s Next Top Model
Fans of silver fox Jay Manuel will be sad to note that the flamboyant model mentor from America’s Next Top Model has been canned, along with runway coach J. “Miss J” Alexander and noted fashion photographer Nigel Barker. Sources told Page Six on Wednesday about the decision, stating that the departures were a “production decision,” and that there are changes to come for season 19 (yes, apparently there are still enough young women who are under the impression that America’s Next Top Model is a gateway into the world of high fashion). Manuel may be out of a design gig at Sears and a cushy Top Model job, but he clearly has fans, so maybe he’ll be allowed to revive his Canada’s Next Top Model baby? It might make up for Top Model’s last trip to Canada.

Jay Manuel, Miss J and Nigel Barker were the best parts of Top Model!! WTF how can you get rid of all three of them in one shot!
Jay Manuel should have been gone ages ago!!! But NIgel and Miss J ? Come on Tyra! get over yourself. I dont watch it… but Manuel was a huge turn off, so fake and phony. Now Miss J is the ‘real’ thing!

Jay Manuel didn’t seem to know what he was talking about half the time, and Miss J Alexander should never been on there in the first place. He/she did nothing for the show and never gave any advice to the models that was warrant. Nigel Barker was the only one I liked and felt made the show. Tyra was always way too hard on the models. Some of them deserved it given their sulkey attitudes, but a lot didn’t. I got turned off watching it after awhile. New staff and critics will hopefully help the show.

Tyra Banks should have been booted off before any of them. At least Manuel means well but needs more patience, Miss J was hardly ever on enough to notice. Barker was the more honest one at least. Tyra has no business grooming future models to be what she thinks she is. Full of herself and no talent and full of BS. There are more talented former supermodels than her like Christy Turlington, Linds Evangelista and even her model guests were more qualified. The only thing that saved it this time with the stupid US vs. UK was Kelly Cutrone. A little blunt but honest at least and more qualified than Banks. The whole show is supposed to be about the models not Tyra Banks. All the stupid drama crap is getting old. I say bring the rest back and boot the Diva out. As and I don’t speak for myself but I think these days it doesn’t matter what colour you are it matters your skills and your ability to compete that gets you around in the modelling business. Tyra is stuck in a bad 90’s time warp and has no idea what it takes to be a model in this century and is old hat end of.
