Sandwiched between Moss and Regent parks on a stretch of Parliament Street that many Torontonians would be nervous to walk at night, this genuine hole in the wall dishes up some of the best Thai food in the city. The nine tables fill up early, even on a Monday evening, and the queue for takeout is constant. Spring rolls are pitch perfect: tightly rolled, greaseless and packed with slippery glass noodles and earthy mushrooms. A classic tom yum soup floats two colossal, juicy shrimp in an aromatic broth that’s sweet with sugar, sour with lime and detonated with chili. Thinly sliced beef and fat cubes of buttercup squash star in an impeccably balanced red curry. Unlicensed.
