In this converted Edwardian house, the art and flora play only a supporting role, which is a good thing—the sage green decor could use an upgrade. Chef Bryan Steele’s triumphant $69 prix fixe menu rightfully hogs the limelight, deftly combining continental technique with impeccable, often local ingredients to create a series of small but perfectly formed plates—like a silky jellied pork terrine app enlivened by a slightly piquant marjoram cream. The unorthodox addition of crunchy raw bean sprouts transforms already superb, supple Dungeness crab ravioli in a lemon grass–enriched cream into a marvel of textural contrast. The wine list by sommelier Peter Lavoie features Old World and Ontario bottles. Mains $38–$42.
