With a tea shop and bakery in front, a terrace out back and an aubergine-coloured dining room filled with Canadian paintings and sculptures, Bloomfield Carriage House has a relaxed feel and a prim look. Toddler-toting families and wine-curious couples enjoy long, casual lunches or multi-course tasting menus. The expansive charcuterie platter is a tray of hits and misses: pork pâté studded with cranberries and pistachios (chunky, creamy, sweet), prosciutto salami (soft, no spice), dried sausage (tough), soppressata salami (subtly floral, with a sweet spiciness that builds in your mouth), prosciutto (creamy and smooth, but why drenched in oil?) and pork rillette (bland and greasy). A crisp-skinned piece of pickerel stands out on a bed of lentils, quinoa and beet purée. Mains $24–$28.
