Fifteen years after it opened, this tiny 26-seater still serves practically the same menu—and folks from far and wide are still lining up around the block for buttery French breakfast and lunch. A satisfyingly crunchy, perfect baguette stuffed with medium-done roast beef, thick brie and properly garlicky aïoli comes with an oversalted mixed green salad, while an otherwise tasty special of potato salad, with arugula, heirloom cherry tomatoes, sweet pepper, olives, purple onion and fennel, could have used a sprinkling of the white stuff. Sweet pastries are the real deal: thin-crusted pecan tart is rich and buttery and lemon tart is sour enough for European palates. The velvety curd filling is lovingly made—each 10-inch tart uses the juice of 25 lemons and three limes. The covered patio provides another 20 spots and a front row seat for Queen East people watching. Cash only.
