For a restaurant that’s been around since the ’80s, when there weren’t mediocre sushi restaurants on every block, it’s surprising that Edo doesn’t show its age. The spacious ebony and red dining room has a look appropriate for any era. Maki, such as crunchy salmon skin and spicy tuna rolls, are made to order, if unevenly sliced and portioned. The sashimi is clean tasting and fresh. Escolar, often masqueraded as butterfish, is properly cut and identified. Space-age glassware does justice to creamy, unfiltered nigori sake. Mains $14–$44.
