This Little Italy institution draws queues with its huge portions of Italian pasta. On a Saturday night, the modern dining room is filled with laughter, the hum of the espresso machine and the shaking of cocktails. It’s a perfect soundtrack for enjoying huge portions of pasta and top-notch, though expensive, wine (reds are $15 a glass and whites $13.50, with bottles starting at $60). The sunny-hued, velvety limone pasta—tagliatelle tossed with lemon, butter, cream and parmigiano—strikes the perfect note between salty and citrusy. The grilled rib steak is simply seasoned with salt, pepper and a squeeze of lemon. It’s big enough to share, although you might not want to; the accompanying bitter rapini is addictive when soaked with the steak’s pan juices. Desserts are forgettable, but the service remains professional, no matter how demanding the diners. Mains $21–$39.
