Ferrovia’s corner spot in the tiny Bayview Hills mall affords it the only patio for miles (even if the view is of a Longo’s parking lot). Inside, the warm mood is complemented by wrought iron and dark wood. As the classy room fills up with families and zoomer couples, friendly servers lose some finesse. The kitchen cranks out good, yet unadventurous rustic Italian fare. Al dente pappardelle noodles in a thick tomato sauce are graced with large chunks of tender braised short ribs. The dish satisfies with simple flavours, though parmesan is nowhere in sight. Gorgeously seared and seasoned, a generous eight-ounce New Zealand lamb rack is the highlight. Small wine list.
