With its welcoming patio festooned with world flags, this is more of a Kensington Market hipster hangout than a subcontinental restaurant. But when sharing a pitcher of sangria on a summer night as the sun goes down, such quibbles seem superfluous. The "tapas" in the name doesn’t translate to a sprawling menu that features pizza and pasta alongside pulses and nann. The vegetarian appetizer platter, laden with pakoras, crisp onion bhajis, and spicy samosas, is a great sharing dish, and the accompanying tamarind chutney and coriander mint sauce are exemplary. The thin-crust tandoori chicken pizza dripping with gooey mozzarella and soggy chicken needs retooling. A pungent chicken jalfrezi sets things right. Beverages include 14 varieties of mojito, along with appropriate swathes of wine, beer, martinis and cocktails. Mains $10—$18.
