Neither the menu nor the decor has been updated in ages, but both are acceptable: this Danforth veteran is the kind of place for big groups and families, when both discerning eaters and picky palates need to be pleased. Starters include a salad of peppery baby arugula topped with lovely, almost liquid grilled tomatoes and two pleasantly charred slabs of chewy halloumi cheese. Half a grilled eggplant, topped with caramelized onions and sprinkled with pine nuts, is equally satisfying. Mains are a bit staid and repetitive; a thin, garlicky, somewhat salty tomato sauce makes rabbit pot pie (with shreds of tender meat) and hearty beef moussaka taste altogether too similar. Servers are friendly, but they should know it’s tacky to crowd all the diners into the small front section to make the place look full.
