Patrick McMurray’s slice of Cork on Queen feels authentically Irish. The room is deliberately rustic, as is the excellent pub food. Mushrooms on toast with blue cheese, and mac-and-cheese with crispy panko are both solid, if stolid, renditions of old-country comfort food. A bowl of mussels in Guinness with bacon and tomatoes is a smoky-briny delight, but the quality of the fare often unravels when the kitchen draws inspiration from points beyond Ireland: on one visit, persimmon panna cotta is a grainy, bland disaster. The patio is charming despite the lacklustre view. Mains $8–$18.
