Warm and inviting, this room effortlessly exudes a welcoming charm. Top Chef Canada contestant Dustin Gallagher divides his menu into three categories: meat, vegetables and seafood. His food resembles ambitious home cooking—chicken liver pâté, interesting salads—but those ambitions aren’t always well executed. Ricotta gnudi, for example, reads deliciously, but some of the six little rectangles are uncooked in the middle. On one visit, a brimming plate of roast beef is a highlight. Tons of thickly sliced roast beef, perfectly medium rare, come with a tiny gravy boat. Alongside is a dish of creamy spinach studded with roasted garlic chips and one crisp, gloriously puffy Yorkshire pudding stuffed with bone marrow. Mains $18–$36.
