From his emphasis on fresh, seasonal and local to his penchant for using jars of preserved vegetables as decoration, chef-owner Yasser Qahawish (formerly the executive chef at Osgoode Hall) has a clear admiration for Jamie Kennedy’s kitchen. While the food is not as thoughtful as Kennedy’s, there’s much to like. A lobster salad arrives nicely vinegared on fresh, firm spinach. Duck confit is expertly prepared and resting on crispy discs of potato that soak up the flavourful juices. Mains $19–$27.
