Inebriated late-night diners have made this a post-bar destination, but it’s worth a visit for sober dining as well. The extensive menu offers group-friendly options, like a large platter of luscious deep-fried crab claws. Smoky wok hei flavours waft from stir-fried free-range chicken that’s covered in sticky ginger, onions and scallions. Sea bass, fresh from the tank, is simply dressed in green onion, cilantro and soy sauce. Sea cucumber intestines, a highly nutritious delicacy, are delightfully crisp when stir-fried with meaty slices of king oyster mushroom, celery and snow peas in briny XO sauce. The meal closes nicely with sweet potato tapioca soup that’s silky, saccharine and bright with ginger root zing. Mains $8.50–$30.
