This bright, buzzy Scarborough restaurant is a regular haunt for big groups, who come for the generous Cantonese family-style plates. Mild suckling pig is shielded by a blistered layer of crackling, while roast duck is salty, succulent and a far better bet than sugar-slicked barbecue pork. Sweet grouper is stir-fried with tender-crisp Chinese broccoli in a delicate sauce flavoured with fine threads of ginger, chives, straw mushrooms and garlic. Pork spareribs are excellent, stained black with an addictive, sinus-clearing Chinese vinegar sauce. Complimentary red bean dessert soup dotted with tapioca is a refreshing finish to the feast. Although the room is usually packed, efficient staff wait on the sidelines to ensure timely turnover. Mains $12–$26.
