Pastel walls, diffused lighting and filling Brazilian fare attract a more mature and diverse crowd than most Queen West restaurants. A bright tomato salsa and a rich side of black beans mixed with pork crackling steal attention from plump medallions of pork tenderloin. Feijoada, a smoky, salty stew of black beans and sausage, is best soaked up with sides of deep-fried cassava and basmati rice. It’s a heavy, hearty dish. The antidote is a caipirinha, which Cajú mixes with a perfect balance of cachaça (sugar cane liqueur) and lime. Mains $16–$24.
