There are moments of culinary brilliance at Riverside’s Table 17. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and everything on the menu is well executed and delicious, starting with two fat scallops expertly seared to a deep, crusty amber. Béarnaise sauce alongside is too salty to match with a strip of crispy guanciale, but the plate sings regardless. Polenta, topped with wild boar bolognese and served on a wooden board, is superb. Homemade tagliatelle is delicate and smartly paired with chorizo, fresh fava beans and pecorino. Mains $18–$36.
