Purple velour banquettes, aubergine walls, crystal chandeliers, fancy pink cocktails—this is the complete opposite of a man cave, designed to cater to Yorkville ladies seeking a decadent girls’ night out or an indulgent dessert. The menu opens with tons of desserts, but a few pages of savoury dishes follow. Happily, there is clearly someone with brains and talent in the kitchen, so a cafeteria staple like croque monsieur here is luscious and ooey-gooey in all the right ways, with plenty of ham, a pot of grainy mustard and even a tidy pile of well-dressed greens alongside. The only failing is the bumbling, albeit cheerful, service. Mains $12–$45.
