The question of where to find Toronto’s best barbecue was answered when this scruffy spot opened last summer. Spicy glazed ribs are the colour of glossy mahogany when they emerge from the smoker every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at five. Most business is takeout, but diners seeking the perfection of hot-off-the-grill meat sit at the counter. Pork smoked for 12 hours is shredded and heated with cider vinegar and barbecue sauce, served in a bun with coleslaw. Fried chicken is moist and flavourful inside a seasoned crust; accompanying frites are a tad overcooked. No reservations. Unlicensed.
