Nirvana: The Flavours of India

 

The food here is a notch above the fare at most Indian restaurants downtown. Chandeliers, oil paintings and a fully stocked bar impart a sense of imperial majesty, and a glass wall into the kitchen offers a view of meats being loaded into tandoor ovens. Greaseless plump samosas arrive with tangy tamarind and mint sauce. The lamb seekh kebab sizzles enticingly on its wooden plank, but the meat lacks flavour. The chicken tikka kebab, skewered with tender white meat, is a better plate.
