The name is more a history lesson than a hint to location, since the shop is now in an industrial park in Etobicoke. But hey, after close to 100 years in the tough-as-nails food business—Nonno Pasquale set up shop in 1917—you get to call yourself whatever you want. Now granddaughter Anna keeps the shelves stocked with delicacies and up to 100 cheeses, focusing on Italy, France and Spain. The tiny shop is a front for a much bigger wholesale business; the adjoining warehouse is a vast wonderland of giant containers of olives, oils, San Marzano tomatoes, rice and pasta.
