The Pour House Irish Pub
416-967-7687
The pub-loving crowd swills goblets of Guinness and Stella throughout this warren of rooms, where there are corners and nooks for hiding, and enough coach lamps to shed a warm glow. On Saturdays in winter, a live band plays an atypical mix of Top 40 cover tunes and old favourites for neighbourhood regulars. The Celtic theme dominates the menu: Irishman’s bread, Kinsale County chicken wings, Patrick’s pierogies, even Irish onion soup. Shamrock fever is also evident at the bar, where 18 taps deliver Guinness, Kilkenny and Harp, plus the usual local suspects (Mill Street Tankhouse Ale, Keith’s).
