Twigs festooned with tiny lights hang from the ceiling, lending a festive, fairy-kissed atmosphere to this cozy Danforth pub. It’s a gathering place of sorts for Riverdale’s casual gourmet crowd; the menu features posh dinner specials (poached salmon) alongside above-average pub fare (chicken drummies, fish and chips). And the wine list keeps getting better. But if beer and bar snacks are more your speed, don’t let the foodies scare you off. Draft offerings include Murphy’s, local brews Mill Street Tankhouse and Steam Whistle, and Scottish gem Caledonian 80 Shilling; all go well with fresh oysters, a bar specialty. So settle into a booth (the back corner is the best in the house) or perch at the bar with a pint.
