Condo of the Week: $2.5 million for an Islington penthouse with its own wine room

Condo of the Week: $2.5 million for an Islington penthouse with its own wine room

Address: 1 Aberfoyle Crescent, Penthouse 4
Neighbourhood: Islington-City Centre West
Agent: Lina Kuliavas, Royal LePage Real Estate Services Ltd., Brokerage
Price: $2,499,000

The Place: A cherry-hued two-bedroom penthouse with a climate-controlled wine room and two wet bars, located just east of Islington station.

Bragging Rights: At 800 square feet, the terrace is bigger than some apartments. And it doesn’t hurt that building residents have access to a shared tennis court and indoor salt-water pool.

Big Selling Point: Nearby Sherway Gardens rivals Yorkdale Shopping Centre in terms of high-end offerings. Plus, Saks and Nordstrom are on the way.

Possible Deal Breaker: For diehard urbanites who think “west end” means High Park, Islington could be a a long commute, even with direct indoor access to the nearby subway station.

By the Numbers:

• $2,499,000
• 3,300 square feet
• $2,031.95 in monthly maintenance fees
• 800-square-foot terrace
• 3 bathrooms
• 2 bedrooms
• 2 parking spots
• 2 lockers
• 1 private terrace
• 1 office/library
• 1 wine room

Sherway Gardens is nowhere near Islington Subway. Look at a map first.

moonshake23, Sherway Gardens is relatively nearby. A real stretch for a Big Selling point.

relatively nearby? give me a break. 7km approximately. not close at all. I guess it is close in suburban world terms.

So we agree to disagree then. BTW whoever purchases that unit will likely be driving there as opposed to walking or taking public transit.
