Condo of the Week: $2.4 million for a sprawling Queen West unit with a peek-a-boo master bathroom

Condo of the Week: 18 Beverley Street, Unit 717

Address: 18 Beverley Street, Unit 717
Neighbourhood: Kensington-Chinatown
Agent: Kerri-Ann Brownlee, Sotheby’s International Realty Canada, Brokerage
Price: $ 2,395,000

The Place: A two-bedroom suite in a building with a landscaped central garden, located just down the street from Grange Park and the AGO.

Bragging Rights: The unit was featured in the coffee table book 21st Century Architecture. A glassed-in master ensuite and a false wall in the living room that slides open to reveal the television are among its highlights.

Big Selling Point: Four. Parking. Spots. If you don’t have four cars, you can leave them open for guests or rent them to your neighbours.

Possible Deal Breaker: Not a book collector? You’ll have to get creative to fill the built-in, wall-to-wall shelving in the office and den.

By the Numbers:
• $2,395,000
• $2,409.60 in monthly maintenance fees
• 3,326 square feet
• 600-square-foot terrace
• 4 parking spots
• 4 bathrooms
• 2 bedrooms
• 2 private locker rooms
• 1 locker

love it, except for the neighbours right across from the deck- you could probably hold hands with them if you wanted to. But, in comparison to the Yorkville 6.5 million 2 bedroom condo from last week, this is a bargain (and 4 parking spots!)

This is what’s wrong with condos. It’s over 3,000 square feet and it STILL only has two bedrooms. I know I’m not in the majority, but I would like to see condos this size have at least THREE (preferably four, since HOUSES this size have four or more). I would LOVE to be able to raise a family in a condo downtown, but it’s pretty much IMPOSSIBLE to find one that is appropriate!

Any guesses which politico this belongs to given the 80s shrine to Brian and Mila in photo 14?
