Home of the Week: $3.3 million for a tricked-out waterfront condo with eight-person hot tub

Dining room, with view

ADDRESS: 500 Queens Quay W., Unit 601W

NEIGHBOURHOOD: Waterfront Communities-The Island

AGENT: Marie Kozak, Chestnut Park Real Estate

PRICE: $3,299,000

THE PLACE: An enormous Queens Quay condo, with views overlooking the islands and Lake Ontario. Owned by a tech guru (she founded one of Canada’s first commercial ISPs), the place is tricked out like a Bond car. There’s a light control system, projection screen, private fibre optic cables and even a computer room with special air conditioning and uninterruptible power supply that would be perfect for a home business or epic World of Warcraft sessions.

BRAGGING RIGHTS: With a staggering 5,132 square feet of space—almost 10 times the size of many waterfront condos—this spot will make its new owner the envy of every CityPlace dweller. The waterfront view alone is a massive 60 feet across.

BIG SELLING POINT: The eight-person hot tub has perfect seats for watching the Canada Day fireworks (with sexy results). There’s even a heated slab of granite on which to step after a wintertime dip.

POSSIBLE DEAL BREAKER: The constant stream of Porter planes landing within peeping distance of the bedroom.

BY THE NUMBERS:
• $17,651 in taxes
• 5,132 square feet
• $2,422.36 maintenance fees
• 1,000-square-foot terrace
• 12-foot projection screen
• 8-person hot tub
• 5 bathrooms
• 3 bedrooms

I am going to keep playing Lottomax to buy this pad! Amazing. I love it, even the office is bigger than my condo. Toronto Life – GET A LIFE! and dont put this condo and the word City Place Garbage mass produced condo in the same sentence and your deal breaker is like all the other Harbourfront residence who talk about the porter planes when its the best thing to ever happen to Toronto.

  • CRITIC

Very nice indeed… superbly laid out and the view is awesome. One of the better featured homes worth the price!

  • Mike

nice views–but why was it entirely furnished by Leons?

  • CRITIC

Too funny Mike!! How do you know its Leon? Your one stop destination? Never been in one, so cant answer or comment. I hear the one by the rogers centre is very upscale.. Leons & upscale in the same sentence… Christ!

  • Furnishings SUCK

If you owned a place this nice (even though it is located in a total sh-it area)… Why in the hell would you furnish it like some Up Country type bullshit?

I agree with the Leon’s comment guy.

PS – Hey, CRITIC, it does look like it’s furnished by leon’s and Mike is right. So fuck off with bashing Mike for no reason

  • JSN

Agree the decor is very bland and uninteresting – whatever the source.

  • Pee

Furnishing sucks – did you wake up on the wrong side of your trailer park ? Dont think CRITIC was abashing Mike.
Located in a Sh-it area ? U must live on the streets if you think 500 queens quay is a sh-it area. Grow up and back the hell up!

  • Paul

Should have had an interior decorator instead of buying everything at the brick.
    No taste whatsoever

  • Nic

Rofl these comments restore my faith in torontians. Why do people like this nasty granny brown furniture in Canada. I am at a loss. Yuck.

  • Location Sucks!!!

I must say that there seems to be some argument over whether the location “sucks”.

Bottom Line: IT VERY MUCH DOES!!

    Queen’s Quay is Booooooooooring!

  • Anne

This place did not interest me at all… I was hoping that it would inspire some creative ideas unfortunately its very traditional and almost back from the 90′s traditional. The mirror in the front hallway??? ugh!

I love seeing the homes T.O Life has weekly but this one did not deserve it.
