Elegant Beasts It might not occur to readers of Andrew Davidson’s 2009 novel The Gargoyle that breakdancing is the best medium for bringing the story to the stage, but that’s the counter-intuitive route the Larchaud Dance Project has taken. The tale features a wild, lusty sculptress and the grotesque beasts she creates with her fiery kiln, so the aggressive choreography is entirely appropriate. Find out more »

Yo – Yo Ma The name is practically synonymous with cello and has been since Ma’s performance debut at the age of five. For this concert he’s dipping into his past, performing the first piece he did with the TSO more than three decades ago: Elgar’s Cello Concerto. The program looks forward, too, with a new work Ma commissioned from the Uzbek composer Dmitri Yanov-Yanovsky. Peter Oundjian conducts. Find out more »
