Clayton Ruby, Toronto’s most high-profile lawyer, is an unrepentant media chaser who never met a headline he didn’t like. He’s also No. 38 on our 2012 list of Toronto’s 50 Most Influential People. Here, he tells us that as a kid he wanted to write the world’s greatest poetry—until he realized that he was never going to be the next T.S. Eliot (or even Wordsworth) and that he better find some “honest work.” So, he became a, um, lawyer.
