This posh stalwart, complete with plush carpeting and tinkling piano, is anchored on the precipice of the midtown rise like an ’80s cruise-ship dining hall. It has managed to stay vital without really changing. Keith Froggett’s menu of luxe standards makes knowing nods to current trends, like an appetizer of poached lobster with bok choy and wafers of fresh ginger in a lobster broth. Pasta is a specialty, the standout a plate of ethereal gnocchi, truffle shavings, kale and confit duck pushed to the decadent extreme with a buttery foie gras jus. The still-stellar dessert of the house, a slice of whipped-to-a-froth coconut cream, comes piled high with white chocolate shavings—a sugary throwback so delicious that fans order whole pies to go.

"“Birthday @ Scaramouche”
Reviewed 14 March 2013
Recently, my husband and I enjoyed our first dining experience @ Scaramouche. We were greeted by young men that at once took our car so parking was NOT an issue. Inside the restaurant, we were warmly greeted once again and were taken to a table which highlighted the view but we were not front and centre. My husband asked to be moved to a perfect spot and our request was granted! The view of the city was spectacular. Our service throughout the entire evening was second to none and the evening was topped off by my birthday coconut cream pie presented with a birthday greeting written beautifully around the plate. Our waitresses were awesome and when we left, our car was retrieved (we gave a reasonable tip which was not expected but much appreciated!)"
