Council decides Woodlot can have its (tiny) patio, but Campagnolo and others have more work to do

The Valentine’s Day meeting of the Toronto and East York Community Council has come and gone, but the patio massacre we were worried about (well, sort of) never took place. Instead, Woodlot will get its teensy five-person patio—although it comes with a long list of conditions on hours, smoking and capacity (by our count, at least a couple of conditions per person allowed outside). Paris Bakery and Pastry also got the go-ahead with conditions, while council denied the application from the White Swan Restaurant and Lounge outright. The rest of the applications, including ones from Campagnolo, Café Stella and Dark Horse’s Queen Street West location, were (anti-climactically) deferred to the March 20 or April 17 meetings to give owners more time to prep petitions of support from area residents.
