Went to Acadia not knowing what to expect, another person in our group made the reservation. But from start to finish the staff was able to answer our questions, and even able to accomodate my wife who has several allergies. Our waiter was patient and not too pushy like some can be.

The cocktails are really creative and that's mostly what we stuck with. But there is also a nice selection of wines by the glass. I had the quail and the porkchop- both excellent. really well presented and flavourful. I opted out of dessert and instead tried one of the extensive burbon offerings.






Looking forward our second visit soon.

My husband and I recently had an incredible dinner at Acadia. From start to finish it was a great night.

The service was extremely warm and welcoming- when we arrived they took our jackets and sat us at a table right by the kitchen- which smelled amazing!

Our waitress encouraged us to try the tasting menu, which would allow us to try quite a few dishes since we would not each be receiving the same dish at every course. It was well balanced and the perfect amount of food. My husband's favorite was the sweetbreads- I could not pick just one,
each dish was a standout for me.


We can't wait to get back to Acadia with our family and friends, this place is easily my top pick in the city and we eat out a lot!

I decided to check out Acadia as a result of the excellent review it received in Toronto Life.

I decided to dine there on a Friday night along with my girlfriend.

I was bit taken aback when i arrived. The decor is so pedestrian and spartan that i wondered whether I was in the right place. It really look like a sandwich shop at strip mall in Scarborough.

I was also immediately struck how most people did not have food on their table. i knew instantly that it would be a long night.

Of course the restaurant doesn't offer any bread, so we ordered one of the few items on the menu that could fill that void--some spicy nuts.

When my order of celery soup finally arrived, it was presented in a very large bowl and they pured the soup into the bowl from something that looked like a decanter. Although the soup was quite good, the portion was absurdly tiny. When i mentioned this to the waitress she disputed this.

My main cheese-based dish was similarly tasty and well presented, but again, the portion was small. It too took a very long time to arrive.

Although the dishes seem to be well crafted, and well presented, there are more things wrong than there are right with this restaurant, i.e., shoddy decor, minuscule portions, poor service and long wait times.

The real kicker of evening came when i received the bill. Me and my GF ordered 2 glasses of chardonnay (13$ each I believe). the waitress recommended that we get a half bottle of another wine, and I took up her advice thinking we would get more bang for our buck--why else would she recommend it?. When i got the bill, I discovered that the half bottle she pushed on me was $60-- nearly three times the amount we would have spent on the two glasses. The waitress was either clueless or unethical.
