Wente 2006 Beyer Ranch Zinfandel

This is pale for zinfandel, with surprisingly mature garnet-brick colour, so drink up and watch for the 2007. It’s quite fragrant, with tea, strawberry-cherry fruit and vanilla—similar to merlot. It’s mid-weight, very smooth and sweetish, with soft tannin and an earthy dried herb finish. LCBO 66118
