Price Description
The oldest and largest organic winery in the U.S. (est. 1980), founded by original Mendocino County back-to-the-land urban dropouts, has made some seriously funky wines over the years. But with this youthful grapey red, it turns more to mainstream tastes. There’s no mistaking the pepper, licorice, smoked meat and black cherry of syrah. Full bodied, dense and rich, with good acidity and firm tannin. Cellar three to five years; you won’t believe you paid only $16.95 when you open it in 2011. Vintages. LCBO 57372
