Nederburg 2006 Shiraz
Nederburg continues to make the most substantial, focused and age-worthy South African reds available on the LCBO general list, although the taut, tannic styling is less approachable when they are young. Reserved, but complex well beyond its price, the aromas in this wine include very ripe black cherry and mulberry fruit, pepper, smoke, and bacon—all common to shiraz. Medium to full bodied, quite smooth and dense, with a dry finish. Very good length. Best 2009 to 2014. LCBO 527457
