Concha y Toro 2008 Casillero del Diablo Malbec
Malbec is a newcomer to Chile, whereas in Argentina, it’s a mainstay of the wine industry. But if this bottle is any indication, the grape has a future here, too. A smooth, velvety red, it captures the exuberant floral, blackberry and textural suppleness and charm of young malbec. There’s tar and chocolate from oak aging, as well. Now to 2012. LCBO 94060
