SANDBANKS 2009 DUNES VIDAL

This vidal is made from Prince Edward County–grown grapes, but Ontario VQA regulations snobbishly prohibit hybrids from carrying a narrower appellation. It has a lovely, lifted nose of pear, pineapple, honey and wildflowers. It’s light-bodied, zesty and tart but not austere, with good focus and length. A bit coarse on the finish (elegance is not vidal’s strength), but this is well made. LCBO 110031
