Frogpond 2002 Cabernet Merlot

87 Scores are assigned on a 100-point scale and reflect a wine's overall quality, but don't consider price.

80 to 84  good
85 to 89  very good
90 to 94  excellent
95 to 100  outstanding
Price Description
Many will point to the earthy oxidative and nail polish (acetone) flavours as proof of all that is wrong with organics. But turn the clock back two decades and this wine evokes Euro reds we once raved about. This rating is controversial, but were it not for the oxidation, it would have rated over 90 for its complexity (cassis, leather, tobacco, dried herbs), density and excellent length. Vintages.
