Penfolds 2004 RWT Shiraz

95 Scores are assigned on a 100-point scale and reflect a wine's overall quality, but don't consider price.

85 to 89  very good
90 to 94  excellent
95 to 100  outstanding
Price Description
With 5,500 acres of vineyards across Australia, Penfolds has made a virtue of multi-region blends, but this rare departure shows greatness from a single appellation. It’s a massive wine, with bulldozer tannin churning against hugely concentrated, almost overripe Barossa boysenberry, dried fig, pepper, tobacco and earth. Outstanding length. May outlive any purchaser over the age of 40.
