Trapiche 2007 Syrah
Impressive syrah authenticity, with power and depth for less than $10. Not the most graceful wine, but the tarry, smoked meat, clove, olive and black cherry flavours are good with beef or lamb. Full bodied and dense, with light tannin and a sweet and sour tension. Buy a case and age it for three years. Best 2009 to 2012. LCBO 26898
